Following the onset of the COVID-19 lockdown in Uganda, many teachers lost their jobs. We had to leave teaching because of the situation; it was a challenge indeed. I believed God for a way through. My Pastor, the late Dr. Handel Leslie, had written me a recommendation letter and advised me to have it at all times. He also suggested that I open an email address and keep it there, and I did so. In March 2021, I applied to work as a volunteer with a Non-Governmental Organization, and I was called for an interview. The interviewer took keen interest in the referee on my CV and granted me the job! I was amazed at how it all happened. I learned that the legacy of my pastor is alive. It paved a way for me, because many people valued him. In the last week of April 2021, I was also given additional responsibility and promoted to the position of a Peer Educator for youth and the young ones who are living positive. I give glory to God.
